Indian passport holders receive a free tourist visa on arrival with no advance application or fee. The Maldives Immigration website does not break this down by nationality, but current (2026) guidance for Indian travellers consistently states 30 days, extendable to a total of 90 days via Maldives Immigration for a processing fee.
- Submit the mandatory IMUGA Traveller Declaration online at imuga.immigration.gov.mv within 96 hours before arrival
- Passport must have a Machine Readable Zone (MRZ) and at least 1 month's validity (6 months strongly recommended)
- Show a confirmed return/onward ticket, a prepaid confirmed hotel/resort booking, and proof of sufficient funds for the stay
- Entry is not granted on Israeli passports (Maldives Immigration, effective 15 April 2025) — irrelevant to Indian passports but shown as a current entry condition
The official immigration.gov.mv pages describe the visa-on-arrival process but do not state a specific day count per nationality. Numerous current (2026) secondary sources agree on a free 30-day visa for Indians, but Wikipedia's 'Visa policy of the Maldives' (citing IATA Timatic) lists 90 days visa-free for India — likely outdated. Confirm the exact day count with Maldives Immigration or the airline before quoting it to a client.

Medhufushi resort had amazing view, food ,rooms everything was very good. We were vegetarian but we didn't face any problem there were varity of food options available at the resort.We took a full board plan.We enjoyed our 5d6n stay. Our trip was awesome . Everything went very smooth from the check in to checkout on the last day. The resort staff had helped our luggage to the airport for check in on the last day . We got special treatment by the chef , restaurant manager as we need Jain food . The staff service was very nice and they are all friendly. Thanks for arranging all the perks we got at the resort . Booked 5 day all inclusive package at the Residence, Dhigurah. It was an absolute paradise! Food, drinks, villas, all the activity, staff, all very memorable. Whole process made easy by The Travel Book. Suman was extremely helpful throughout and been very responsive attending to all our needs.
