Visa-free entry for tourism, up to 60 days
Indian passport holders do not need a visa for tourism, family visits, or short unpaid business meetings in Mauritius; entry is granted free of charge at the immigration counter for tourism purposes, commonly cited as up to 60 days. Stays can be extended case-by-case, up to a total of 6 months in a calendar year, by applying at the Passport and Immigration Office in Port Louis before the initial permit expires.
- Complete the mandatory All-in-One Travel Digital Form (health/arrival declaration) online before departure at safemauritius.govmu.org — required under Mauritian law for all incoming travellers
- Carry a confirmed return/onward ticket and proof of accommodation (hotel booking or host address)
- Passport must be valid beyond the intended length of stay
- Work, study or any paid activity is not covered by visa-free entry and needs a separate permit arranged beforehand
