Indian passport holders need an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) before arrival, applied for only at the official portal. Since Sri Lanka expanded its free-ETA scheme to 40 nationalities on 25 May 2026, India is included and pays no ETA fee. The ETA permits double entry and 30 days of stay per entry, and can be extended from within Sri Lanka up to a total of 270 days.

• Apply only at the official portal eta.gov.lk before travel — it is free for Indian nationals since 25 May 2026; many look-alike scam sites charge a fee that should be zero
• Carry a passport valid 6+ months from arrival, a return ticket, and proof of accommodation
