An ordinary Indian passport alone does not grant visa-free entry or a visa on arrival. Indian nationals holding a valid visa or residence permit from the US, UK, EU (Schengen), Australia, Canada, Japan, New Zealand, South Korea or Singapore can get a 14-day single-entry visa on arrival (extendable once for 14 more days, fee about AED 253 including VAT). All other Indian travellers must apply for a UAE visit visa in advance through an authorised channel before flying.
- If you do not hold a qualifying US/UK/EU/Australia/Canada/Japan/New Zealand/South Korea/Singapore visa or residence permit, apply for a UAE visit visa in advance — it is not available on arrival
- Passport and any qualifying foreign visa/residence document must be valid at least 6 months from the travel date
- Carry proof of a confirmed onward/return ticket; hotel booking and proof of funds may be requested at immigration or by the airline check-in counter
Most Indian leisure tourists without one of the listed foreign visas/residence permits will need a standard UAE tourist/visit visa arranged in advance via an authorised agent or airline — this is the typical case for a Delhi agency's Dubai clients.
